Stat overlays
The Year of Presentation continues, some more reflections on Madden 09.

So, EA finally delivered stat overlays in Madden 09 but they fall short of what we wanted. In terms of appearance, the font is just too large and the style is unnattractive. What EA should do is take a note out of the book of NBA 2k8 or MLB 08 'The Show' and keep them small and informative - highly informative. The font can be smaller and still be read. If a player is on a hot streak, tell me about it. If he just reached a landmark in the game, tell me about it...
The inclusion of stat overlays in Madden 09 was a very welcome step in the right direction. However, EA should improve upon this in 2010 significantly.
