Review Summary
8.7
Gameplay The fact that this game is easy to pick up and play, especially with the somewhat complicated rules of rugby, is to the credit of EA. Of course, there's a sacrifice to be made as a result and that is to the rugby diehard the game might not be as deep as they might want. However the game moves at a nice pace and it plays a solid game of rugby with distinct and clear improvements over previous incarnations of this game. Collisions between players is a massive part of the game of rugby and EA have pulled it off with highly realistic results. Indeed, the sense of contact is one of the games strongest points.

Graphics Brand new graphics from those we saw in the last version of the game. Player models are accurate, faces are realistic and players move in a highly realstic way. The stadiums are nice although at times a little bland looking. The kinds of intimate details we see in other games, especially NFL and MLB games are missing - but, these are still graphically satisfying and you'll recognise each one quite easily.
8.2
Longevity A wide variety of tournaments will keep the rugby fan happy for some time. Includes the Six Nations, European Cup and Lions Tour.
8.2
Presentation Every aspect of presentation has seen an improvement over the last version - from the menus.

Sound This is one game were you will want the volume cranked up. The in-game audio is extremely good, with all manner of sound effects done extremely well. The crowd reactions are well placed and realistic and the comments between players makes this one of the better audio efforts from EA.
8.5
Overall This is a good, solid and well produced sports game which I would recommend any sports gamer add to their collection. The rules may be a little bit complicated for anyone who has had no exposure to the game before, but once you get the rules down there is plenty of satisfaction to be had.
