# All-New EA SPORTS™ Skill Stick: Create highlight reel goals by executing the signature moves of an NHL All-Star. With a tap of the right analog stick, drop the puck between your skates, fake out goaltenders with a between-the-legs shot, or puck the puck in the back of the net with a bat-in. # EA SPORTS R.P.M. Physics: New Realistic Puck Momentum (R.P.M.) means the puck is dangerous—hard shots can injure defensemen, shake up goalies in the crease, ripple the twine, or knock water bottles off the net to add insult to injury. # Classic Deking Control: Movement on the ice is more intuitive than ever as you skate and deke using the left analog stick to move past opponents and make goalies look foolish. Own the ice like in the glory days of the EA SPORTS classic NHL 94! # All-New Momentum Skating: Feel what it’s like to be on the ice. A player’s speed and size now affects his momentum and turning radius. Generate momentum to initiate speed bursts then fly past opponents, leaving real-time ice trails in your wake. # Creation Zone: Create a player who looks like you and get into the game with the new analog facial sculpting controls. Add black eyes, broken noses and scars to put fear in the eyes of your opponents. Create an NHL team in your hometown and build a dynasty, or edit any player in the league with an all-new player editor.
VINCENT LECAVALIER SHOOTS AND SCORES WITH EA IN NHL 06
Tampa Bay Lightning All-Star center has signed as the cover athlete with EA SPORTS
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – May 5, 2005 – Tampa Bay Lightning All-Star center Vincent Lecavalier has signed with Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world’s leading interactive software company, to be the cover athlete and spokesman for its EA SPORTS™ branded NHL® 06 game. The highly skilled assistant captain of the Lightning is the perfect choice for the 14th season of EA’s NHL franchise as shooting and scoring have never been so much fun.
With NHL® 06 players can score like a superstar, express themselves through their shooting style with the new EA SPORTS Skill Stick and light the lamp with highlight reel moves such as spinoramas, toe drags, bat-ins, and between-the-legs shots. Classic deke control adds to the arsenal of moves allowing maneuvers around defensemen before snapping off dangerous shots that can ripple the twine and knock the water bottle off the net.
“I am very excited about being a member of the EA SPORTS team,” Lecavalier said. “I grew up playing EA SPORTS games and to be a part of NHL® 06 now is a great honor.”
Lecavalier, 25, already has become one of the most decorated young stars in the NHL. Following the 2003-04 NHL season, Lecavalier led the Lightning to the Stanley Cup Finals, where they prevailed in seven games. Just three months later he was named the Most Valuable Player as Team Canada won the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. He was the first overall selection in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
