Gameplay The latest in the seies of Burnout titles continues the legacy in fine style. The gameplay is solid and while the traffic checking isn't to everyone's liking, overall the gameplay is better than most other racing titles out there.
9.3
Graphics The graphics and framerates are oustanding, Criterion does an awesome job of squeezing so much out of the hardware.
9.2
Longevity With the online mode (online races are great fun) there is plenty of longevity, but even if you don't care for playing online there is still plenty of racing to be done offline to keep you occupied.
9.1
Presentation My only complaint here is that the navigation around the menu of available races is a bit awkward. Aside from that the presentation of Burnout Revenge is worthy of a high score (hence the 9.1).
9.2
Sound The soundtrack accompanies the gameplay perfectly, something that can't always be said for EA's choice of track.
9.1
Overall The legacy of the Burnout series continues with this latest release from Criterion. However, overall the edge is slightly with Burnout 3 : Takedown as the best Burnout in the series so far.

The legacy of the Burnout series continues with this latest release... ... More
Chertsey, Surrey, UK - April 4, 2005 - According to the 2004 Urban Mobility Report by the Texas Transportation Institute, U.S. commuters endured 3.5 billion hours of traffic delays in 2002, at a cost of more than $63.2 billion. It's hell on the highway and Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced plans to let gamers live out their wildest commuter fantasies this September with "Burnout Revenge."
"Burnout Revenge" lets gamers rip through rush hour traffic and lay waste to scores of rubbernecking roadhogs in an over-the-top scene of vehicular mayhem. The game is currently in development by Criterion Games for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft.
"Burnout Revenge" is the sequel to 2004's award-winning "Burnout 3: Takedown," which has garnered dozens of awards, including "Game of the Year" by Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine, "Multiplatform Game of the Year" by Electronic Gaming Monthly and "Best Xbox Game of 2004" by GameSpot.
In addition to tricked out new race, crash and road rage modes, "Burnout Revenge" takes the series' blistering speed and spectacular destruction to dizzying new heights with an all-new Revenge mode, challenging gamers to battle the clock and unleash their frustrations on rush hour traffic.
EA will debut Burnout Revenge at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles on May 18, 19 and 20, 2005.
