Score Summary
8.1
Gameplay The gameplay features a new dimension over Need for Speed Underground Rivals (the previous PSP title in this series) with the introduction of cop cars and EA has done a good job porting this over from the console versions. The tracks are nice and varied as well. However the game is not as deep as it's counterparts on the Xbox and PS2
8.1
Graphics The detail of both cars and environment is good and the gameplay moves fast with no slowdown
8.2
Longevity Online multiplayer gaming as well as a robust career mode gives this game plenty of lasting appeal
7.4
Presentation The appearance is nice but the menus and navigation are pretty basic
7.2
Sound Soundtracks are nice enough, beyond that the gameplay sounds are functional if not spectacular
7.8
Overall Need for Speed Most Wanted has a bit more about it than its predecessor, Need for Speed Underground Rivals, had on this platform. That additional challenge comes in the form of cop cars which make the races unpredictable and add variety to what is otherwise a basic racing game. At least now it isn't just case of getting in front and staying in front by hitting the racing line unchallenged through every corner. If yoiu already own a racing title on the PSP however you might want to rent this before you buy and if you don't already own one... well check out Burnout Revenge.
