Vision and Precision Tips

1. Look off DB’s and LB’s – you can change your primary (cone) receiver at the line of scrimmage. So I suggest if you have a QB will a small cone that you actually start it on someone other than your #1 choice then quickly switch it before you throw to that receiver if he is open. This will take away the problem that I was having where the DB’s and LB’s would react really fast to each of my throws. I was using Mark Bulger.
2. If you are using a great vision QB like Brady or Manning or even some others that have a medium cone. Try making your reads off receivers on the same side of the field. That way you have a good chance of another receiver you are looking at being in your cone of vision. Update: I have found that with these great QB's the right thumbstick is a very good option to move the cone. Their cone cover a big area so adjusting it slightly is pretty easy with the stick.
3. Have a quick route that you can switch to quickly encase of a big blitz. Since it takes more time at first to switch between receivers people are going to bring the heat and you need to have an option to go to quickly.
4. Break the habit early of dropping back farther to get more time. It will not work for you this year. Early on since I was slow getting my cone switched around I would try to buy time by dropping back farther. Lets just say I had some ver long 2nd and 3rd downs to deal with.
5. Update: I have found that as soon as you drop back hold on the trigger that lets you switch the cone to a different reciever. Even if you throw to your primary target that the cone is already on go ahead and select him and then let off the trigger and hit is button again. The problem if you just let off the trigger is it will do a pump fake and you will get delayed. The reason I say hold it down from the beginning is it's somewhat hard to hit it and the recievers button at the same time. It's better to be ready. I am still working out what's better... to hold the button as soon as you hike it or try to do it after you figure out what reciever you want to switch to. I am in the habbit of holding it as soon as I hike it right now.
6. Go into practice mode. Offense only and just switch the cone around for a while in both methods. Then go to the mini camp drill pocket presence and use the cone in that even though your not required to as far as I can tell. Also do the precision passing drill. These are the first things you should do when you first boot up the game.
